Red Wines

Sweet

Freezeland Red - This light red wine has a unique blend of the Portuguese varietals, Tinta Cao and Touriga, and Spanish Tempranillo. Its light and fruity flavor combined with a 5% residual sugar makes it a great sipping or patio wine.

Dry

2004 Syrah - A plush intense wine with plenty to like! Deep, rich, round, flavorful and softness all packed in this gem of a Syrah. Fruit tones of ripe boysenberry and candied blueberry dance from the glass and are complemented with vanilla bean and very subtle bacon fat undertones. Very broad in scope, nice robust texture, black cherry finish with a touch of anise at the end. This wine is a rare jewel.

2005 Merlot - A bigger masculine red wine! Oak dominates now but will integrate in time giving way to mouth filling fruit underneath. Masterfully crafted for the future; yet, will hold now to any steak or heavy red pasta dish. Crushed plum and ripe blackberry layer nicely soon to dominate in this exceptional Merlot. Polished, refined but a forward gentleman!

2005 Cabernet Franc - This Fox Meadow Winery Cabernet Franc is the second wine label of Fox Meadows and offers a flavor of licorice and cherry fruit combined with youthful oak. A clean Bordeaux style with prevalent but refined and silky tannins. The overall feeling of this wine it that it is muscular in the classic Cabernet Franc style but gentle!

2002 Cabernet Franc - Aged an extended time in the cellar so you won’t have to. A bright cherry fruit driven wine typical for Cabernet Franc with a touch of white chocolate. The barrel aging ads a nice toasty finish combined with white pepper undertones complementing the nicely evolved fruit character. The tannins are refined lending this wine ready for drinking or aging the next eight years potentially peaking in four.

White Wines

Sweet

Freezeland White - The initial aromas as one approaches this wine is one of Raspberries. This lively fruity white wine is a unique blend of early harvest Viognier and Rkatsiteli, a Russian varietal. A taste of apple tones can be sensed, but the wine finishes with a taste of apricots. This light and fruity flavor combined with a 4% residual sugar makes it a great sipping, or
patio wine. The hotter the weather the better it tastes!

Semi-Dry

2006 Pinot Gris - A more “user friendly” style of this white Pinot! Vinted in the Alsatian style that starts with rich nectar and blossoms and unfolds with melons and apples to dominate this matchless bottling. The zesty acid balance pleases with just a touch of residual sugar, measured at less than 1%. This wine offers domineering fruit and balanced acidity.

Dry

2006 Pinot Grigio - There is no oak in this wine! Its showy citrus and old world type minerality is one rarely witnessed in the new world. This is a true expression of terrior for us at Fox Meadow! This traditional ultra premium Pinot Grigio has balance and elegance.

2006 Chardonnay - This is a determined and true-to-type unblemished Chardonnay. This dry zippy non-oaked wine gives unmasked expressions of the Chardonnay grape and provides true Chardonnay mouth feel. Such a delight with slight twists of pear and fig. This wine is well balanced, vibrant, clean and crisp.

2005 Chardonnay - This fine wine lingers on the palate just about as long as the gorgeous mountainous views from our tasting room that so many of you have shared with us. This true to type Chablis style pampered handcrafted Estate Grown Chardonnay holds nothing back. Ultra-ripe melon fruit characters combine with toasty oak to pleasingly fill your mouth and claim – wow! Apple, lush tropical fruit and fresh toast dominate in this balanced judiciously oaked wine. Drink now or age for 4 more years based on your wine drinking preference.
