Red Wines – Dry

2006 FMV Merlot – Forward dried blackberry and mature raspberry fruit with hints of truffles in the background. A slight slate and mineral quality with a caressing dark chocolate finish make this wine very interesting. Dig deeper to find a slight tea leaf and a desirable tar quality. Balanced, intricate, full, lingering and fun.

2006 FMW Syrah – Dried plum, cherry and damsons dominate with flirting nuances of pecan, charcoal and a slight hint of truffles. This wine is uniquely crafted outside of our usual for the more demanding, mature and exploring palate. With the complexity of a Pinot Noir this wine pairs well with Stilton, sharp and flavor accented cheeses.

2007 FMW Cabernet Franc Bright cherry, plum skin and pomegranates aromas exude from this nice, dark ruby non-demanding and cellar softened red wine. Blueberry dominantly exudes on the palate beyond the mélange of mix fruit flavors. Evolved, flowing and sound on the palate. A joy to consume because of it is liquid elegance.

2007 FMV Cabernet Franc Reserve – It’s got it all! Evolved red currants, dark fruit jams, caressing blackberry, ripe blueberry, lively boysenberry fruit all express themselves, both aromatically and on the palate, in this stately liquid matrix. The finish exceeds expectations with nuances of oak, raisin, dried dates and velvety supple tannins.

2007 FMV Le Renard Rouge – Plush but tight raspberry, wild berry and crushed red plum layer the nose while flirting with a slight toasty oak aroma. A palate of expansive boysenberry glides along fine-grained gentle tannins. Beautiful, layered, fruit driven and marvelous.
